How to Set Up Kraken Futures Live Trading

This guide walks you through setting up a Kraken Futures account and connecting it to Tradoflow in live trading mode for executing your strategies with real funds.

Step 1: Sign Up for a Kraken Futures Account

  • Visit the Kraken Futures website.
  • If you don't already have an account, click on the "Sign Up" button and follow the prompts to create a live trading account.
  • Complete the necessary KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process to enable live trading.

Step 2: Create API Keys for Your Live Account

  • Once logged in, click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  • From the dropdown menu, select Settings.
  • In the settings menu, click on API Keys.
  • Click on the Create API Key button.
  • When creating your API key, configure the following permissions:
    • General API: Set to Full Access.
    • Withdrawal API: Set to No Access
  • Copy the Public Key and Private Key provided by Kraken. You will need these keys later to connect to Tradoflow.

Step 3: Connect to Tradoflow in Live Trading Mode

  • Open Tradoflow and navigate to the Connections section.
  • Click on Create Connection and select Kraken Futures from the list of available exchanges.
  • Choose Live mode to execute real trades with your funds.
  • Paste the Public Key from Kraken into the API Key field in Tradoflow.
  • Paste the Private Key into the API Secret field.
  • Save your connection settings.

  • Why Live Mode? - Live mode allows you to execute your strategies with real money on the market. It's essential for moving from simulation to actual trading.
  • Key Permissions - Ensure that your API key has the necessary permissions for your trading activities. Be especially cautious with Withdrawal permissions, as these control fund movements.
  • Troubleshooting - If you encounter issues connecting your Kraken Futures account to Tradoflow, double-check your API key settings and ensure that you are using the correct keys for live trading.
